Arriving in Zurich
Soon we reached Zurich. To me this was the most international city in that ugly way, in all of Switzerland. There were bums - well dressed, but never the less bums. One guy did an incredible tottering act in the station all with his eyes closed. We were very worried he would fall over, he came close but then did a bunny hop every time, swayed a bit and then started again bending his legs. I think his ultimate goal in life was to reach the ground - literally and figuratively. We changed money, 0.82 Marks to the Swiss Franc. So we had 12 S Francs to live on for each day. We were carrying our large rucksacks with a sleeping bag on top, parts of the tent and a few clothes. Unfortunately we had to carry them with us while we did sightseeing as we had no hostel to dump them at. This really made simple walking an effort.
