We made calls to the hotels we had go to for interviews and out of all of them the Sheraton offered us jobs! We were offered 1750 marks, less 25% tax, less 175 Marks for accommodation. So we would be taking home about $800, which meant if we worked for 2 months we would have enough to start travelling again in May. We were both down to a few Dollars so we took the job although we may have been able to find something that payed better. We also were told that we could only start in two weeks time on the 4th of March. This suited us just fine as we wanted to get back to Austria. The next day we had to do three things, register at the German Internal Affairs office; register an address as a temporary resident and thus tax payer; and open a bank account so that they could deposit our salaries. We did all this, and I must say it was the most organized bureaucracy I have ever encountered.
Now with our jobs assured we set off on another adventure. We went to the train station and asked how much a train to Innsbruck was - 33 Marks, and to Salzburg - 29 Marks, so we went to Salzburg, as the train was leaving in ten minutes. Talk about spontaneous. We spent the 3 hours on the train reading in the Lets Go about Salzburg as we had fully intended on returning to Innsbruck!
