In the Innsbruck hostel common room
I sat in the common room of the hostel writing letters, rather distracted, while I listened to the Australian, Canadian, Argentinian and Americans discuss the different countries they have been to. We had come to the conclusion that all these budget travellers are rich and backed by their Daddy. Their budgets are so much higher than ours. They talk about travelling till the plastic melts, and about $50 a day. Some one came and asked where they should change their clothes, as the dorms are unisex. I told her that most of the people here don't change their clothes so often so it is not a problem. I've been in the same sweater for two weeks, and slept in it too. There was to be a carnival here the next day, which has apparently been going on all week, so we will stay here tomorrow and then go look up a friend of a friend who could get us work. In the meantime looking out the window I saw adults playing hide and seek in the snow.
